The Mani Rimdu is one of the most fascinating high Himalayan Buddhist festivals observed every year in November in Tengboche Monastery just south of Mount Everest. Mani Rimdu is a sacred ceremony and series of events of empowerment. The festival consists of nine days of ceremonies and meditation, called Drupchen. This is concluded by a special blessing ceremony given by resident Rinpoche to the general public followed by the world renowned Mask Dances performed by the monks.
