The Yorkshire Wartime Experience 2017

Over 300 Military Vehicles from Jeeps to Tanks on display. Get up close to some of the most iconic vehicles of the periods,including post war up to the present day.  See them on the move and in action in the recreated large battle re-enactments and skirmishes within the main arena.  See the 'Wheels of Steel' demonstrations and procession of many of the vehicles on the move.  See the speed and power of these incredible machines. Light vehicles and the large tracked tanks firing and demonstrating there weapons.

Over 50 Living History Re-enactment Groups from American Rangers - British Paratroopers - Homefront - to - Tank Crews - Air Crews and German Grenadiers. Some of the most respected and dedicated Re-enactors from all over the U.K. with excellent Living History Displays showing how and what it was like to live and fight like the soldiers and crews of both the WW1 and WW2 great conflicts. See the camps and impressive selection of weapons and equipment. Talk to the Re-enactors who are more than happy to impart their knowledge and educate. See them demonstrating pistols to light machine guns - mortars to artillery guns - radio communications to medical attention  See the vast array of uniforms and military equipment displayed in fantastic detail.  Many of the re-enactors take part in re-creating small skirmishes and the large battle reenactments in the main battle arena where you will see their vehicles , weapons and equipment in spectacular action !

BMC British Bouldering Championships - Sheffield 2017

The BMC British Bouldering Championships are taking centre stage at Cliffhanger, the city centre festival of the outdoors, at Devonshire Green on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th July. Organised by the BMC, the national championships is one of the bouldering calendar's big highlights in the UK, and counts towards selection for the Senior British Bouldering Team.

Reflection - Dan on the River Don

Dan is back on the River Don creating his wonderful sculptures from materials found in the river.  He created his first set of temporary sculptures late in 2016. Over the winter months the flow and the rising of the river has returned them to the river bed. The sculptures are made entirely of materials found in the river and like his original series these too will be returned to the river when the waters rise again…

I see birds in the sky and I don't understand the purpose of their existence but I know where they fly

they live because their cells are communicating and cooperating

life is proportional balance and when a cell became selfish and wants all the food for itself that cell is known as cancer

In the same way when a person or society sees itself as superior, enslaves tortures and kills to accumulate all the power and resources they became  an existential threat to humanity and a mortal enemy to all things that live

life is communication and cooperation

Without communication and cooperation there can be no sanity no peace and no life
