Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Xi'an 西安市, China 2017

The Small Wild Goose Pagoda is located on the central axis of the Jianfu Temple in south Xian. As a world heritage site, the Buddhist pagoda survives from the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Tourists can learn about the history and culture of Xian by visiting the pagoda and the Xian Museum in the southwest of the temple. The pagoda is not as famous as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, but is more peaceful and tranquil. As part of the artistic heritage of Buddhist architectures of the Tang Dynasty, it witnessed how Buddhism was introduced to China and integrated with the culture of Han nationality.

Seven Stars Park in Guilin 桂林市, China 2017

Seven Stars Park is the largest comprehensive park with mass scenery in Guilin City. It was so named because of the seven peaks (the four peaks of Putuo Mountain and three of Crescent Mountain). Putuo Mountain, where Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is worshipped, is the main body of the Seven Stars Park. It abounds with caves and pavilions. At the west end of the mountain, you will see the renowned Seven Stars Cave, which is also called Qixia Cave or Bixu Cave. With the multifarious stalactites, stalagmites and stone pillars formed by the dissolved limestone, the cave was called 'Residence of the Immortals'.

Liu San Jie Impression Light Show in Yangshuo 阳朔, China 2017

The stunning scenery of the Li River south from Yangshuo forms what is said to be the largest natural theater in the world for the now famous Liu San Jie Impression Light Show in Yangshuo. The waters of the Li-river set the stage and a dozen beautifully lit karst formations form a natural backdrop. The light show is a creation of Zhang Yi Mou, also director and choreographer of the impressive opening ceremony for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and famous Chinese movies like Raise the Red Lantern. The first light show in Yangshuo was held in 2004 and currently features over 600 locals, mainly from the Zhuang minority, including farmers, fishermen and young girls singing and performing simultaneously in a show that looks different each time as mist, rain and moonlight naturally alter the set of the stage.

Yangshuo 阳朔, China 2017

Yangshuo lies to the southeast of Guilin and in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The rippling Li River traverses the county and brings it breath-taking natural beauty. The county is regarded as one of the most beautiful counties in China and the local scenery is the essence of Guilin. It is also the termination of a Li River cruise.
