BetFred.com World Snooker Championship

The World Snooker Championship is the leading professional snooker tournament in terms of both prize money and ranking points. The first championship was held in 1927; and since 1977, it has been played at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.

It has been confirmed that the World Championships will stay at the Crucible until 2015.

The Great Easter Duck Race - Endcliffe Park

On Easter Monday in Endcliffe Park, Friends of the Porter Valley held a Duck Race to raise money for the restoration of Shepherd Wheel.

Galvanize 2011 - Festival of Contemporary Metal

Galvanize Sheffield aims to spark new interest in contemporary metal design and shed light on innovations in the manufacturing of metal products in the city. Now in its 4th year, Galvanize Sheffield 2011 shows the best in contemporary metal through a range of exhibitions and events taking place in venues across the city.

Sharrow Lantern Carnival

This year's Sharrow Lantern Carnival gathered at Mount Pleasant Park and headed off via London Road to the General Cemetery Park for live music, fire spinners and the lantern release. The theme of this year's Carnival was Elements. The parade was headed by the Sheffield Samba Band and backed up by African drummers.
